Looking for info on Grandfather's watch.
This watch was my Grandfather's, who retired from Rock Island Railroad in the late 60's. Hamilton 992, SN#2454535, 21 jewels. It needs the winder, and maybe some other parts. Is this a lever set? If so, the lever is missing. i would really like to get this working, preferably myself. Checked the SN, one place said[ATTACH=CONFIG]28567 it was made in 1929, one was 1932. Being offered this watch and considering it as a beater to complement my 16750 matte when I want a water proof/etc watch. It is a W serial, it has papers. I know the dial is not original. Appears to be a Swiss Made service dial. Is the bezel correct for the watch? Have not seen the stamping on bracelet yet. Im thinking of offering $5000-5500 knowing the issues. Am I low or high? Dealer took this in against a new watch. Thanks guys!

Hi All,I got a black LN and its a great watch and currently its my only Rolex but ultimately I have had this watch a couple of times now and it's getting pretty boring.I am contemplating trading it for a 16613 Blue 2005 with box and papers (my LN is just the watch itself)Do you think I should do it? The 16613 is one of the few watches I have never had before. I do prefer the 6 digit bluesy but don't currently have the funds for it. I am 36 so have no qualms about wearing 2 tone.I have worn plenty of 5 digit references before in the past so it won't be a shock really to back to a 5 digit reference.Opinions welcome. I think with XMAS coming up - just got the Christmas itch to buy something but I do wonder with the market the way it is, sticking with SS is the way forward.Thanks All.
