- I opened the box and the watch looked almost plastic. I was intrigued when I saw the wooden watch in the catalog, but disappoitned when such a cheap-looking duct arrived.

New Addition - Heuer Autavia
I had a new (for me) watch arrive last night. A Heuer Autavia, and before anyone else mentions it: yes, you have seen one before. Dennis has one he has recently restored). I had been starting to look into vintage watches and vintage chronos and Dennis pointed me in the direction of some interesting information. I enjoyed reading and researching about the early auto chronos and made a decision on which one to buy for many of the same reasons Dennis did.This one uses the calibre 12 movement, which of course is based on the calibre 11, one of the first auto chrono movements. It is a great size for me, 42mm wide excluding the crown, and look great on.I have a replacement bezel coming in, but I don't think I'll do much else from pop that in and get the movement cleaned up. Probably a new strap soon.Mix of my shots and sellers shots:

Why has AP stopped production of forged carbon's watch?
Is it something to do with the material itself? not durable?

Scratches on Bumblebee clasp!
I think everyone dreads it when they get their first scratch on their precious watch. I know watches are meant to be worn and each scratch/ding adds character etc, but it hurts!Well I was returning from Singapore with my family and trying to load all the hand-carries into the upper storage bin when the unthinkable happened.... I heard a horrible scratching sound as the PVD titanium buckle cap of my Bumblebee slid across the aluminum bar of the storage bin. I hoped for the best when I finally got back into my seat, but it was too late. Two huge white scratches. Hai...When I got back into Toronto, I contacted the AP parts department. Unfortunately, they didn't sell only the buckle cap and I needed to buy the whole deployment clasp.... $800!! I put it on order and stored away my Bumblebee until today when I decided to give it my routine cleaning/wipe down.The most amazing thing happened. The scratches on the buckle cap came right out. It must have been paint and metal from the storage bi

PCLs...... Arghhh
I know there are lots of posts about this, but wanted to share my pics and polish. Wore this one for a whole week.I have to say that I hate PCLs...... I gave it a light polish Sunday. I was careful to not get anywhere near the brushed stainless. So much better!I'll always keep this watch as it was my first Dayotna but I will never buy a watch with PCLs again!I think the platinum in my Everose Daytona is more scratch resistant.....
