Invicta 14289 wrist watches news:
Just picked up from the Post Office:A 1960 Geneve caliber 562:and of course, the obligatory wrist shot:It's been a over year since I wore any ss vintage Omega, so it was time to rectify that situation. This Geneve fits in with my drive to add some less common models to the box. I'm pretty happy this morning! ...
So I've always been a big fan of the Speedmaster pro, especially the model with the clear caseback. So I was wondering:1. Is that a particular reference number or are there several model numbers with the clear caseback? For example, I've seen in the For Sale section before models labeled 3572.50 and 3573.50 - are there more? Where can I find the differences?2. Are they all manual wind or do they make an automatic version of this?Manual wind movements look to be absolutely beautiful, but I don't know if I could wind it everyday. I like to just put my watch on and wear it 24/7.Thanks for the info and sorry for the newbie questions!
Hi,I'm trying to further my education about Speedmaster exhibition back models, specifically models 3572.50 and 3573.50.I'm aware of, and disinterested in, the debate regarding the difference in wording.I'm more curious about whether both models always have the engraved words filled with a dullish black paint? I've seen examples where the words seemingly were not filled in but rather polished. I wonder if this minor detail might help date the watch?Any one here have a thought or comment about this little bit of trivia? Thanks and cheers!
Hi,I am considering taking a watch (~2009 Omega Planet Ocean Chrono, pictured below) on trade, and I am scared to death of the PO fakes out there. I tried it on and it feels well made. I am a Rolex guy and have no experience with Omega so I don't know what to look for. I snapped a quick pic with my cellphone, but it's not the best quality. It will come with box, papers, etc. No steel band, just the rubber one. Anyway, the guy seems really nice and knowledgeable, but you just never know with all the fakes out there. Is the helium valve in the correct place? What about the numbers/writing?Thanks a million!Ed
In my opinion, Rolex will always take top prize overall. However, I recently picked up a Panerai and have been thoroughly enjoying it. Their history is really cool and I love the ease of changing the straps. It is amazing how so many varied straps look good on a single cushion cased Panerai. Funny thing is I never gave Panerai¡¯s a real look until recently. Posting this mainly for folks that are frustrated with the the lack of Rolex sports models out there. Might want to dive in a bit with Panerai.
