- Bought it as a Christmas gift so I don't know how well it will be received. However, I liked it so much so that I would not mind having one for myself. Great value and beautiful watch ... looks more expensive in person.

- This is a great watch for work and casual wear. It is great quality for the price. It does have a face, if your eye sight is bad this may not be the watch for you.

lindsaylohansource/galler...428&fullsize=1lindsaylohansource/galler...420&fullsize=1date of pics: March 5, 2010Identify that watch. Kind of hard to determine for sure from these shots, but from other pics I've seen of her, I think that it is a 36mm DD everose. Almost looks like a gold midsize against her wrist size, but I believe that the oyster bracelet is not available on gold midsize.Have fun
Hello all. Total n00b here. So flog me mercilessly if I'm out of line.I received the generous gift of a 5196 from my in-laws when I brought their first grandson into their life :) First grand child altogether as a matter of fact. Anyway I was told I needed to wear it as my everyday watch, so I wore it for approx 365 days straight, then decided it was time to retire it for special occasions. It's a beautiful watch, no doubt about that- I've received two or maybe three compliments on it due to the fact that the Patek name isn't terribly well known among those that aren't watch enthusiasts (the first time I heard the name is when I opened the box)- however, I don't think it is the one I would have picked as my daily piece. Having said that, if I had to pick a watch that will be a family heirloom (which this one is intended to be), I can't think of a more classic design. I suck at photography, and have no idea how to use my camera, so I just took a comple snaps the other day, and w

Hello all, novice watch tinkerer here.I'm servicing my grandfather's old Hamilton Lester (982 movement) and I'd like to replace the mainspring. My research shows that the 982 used a 14/0 size mainspring.I see several old mainsprings for sale in various places....just wondering if a more modern alloy spring is available in this size, and would that be a better route to take?I appreciate any help or tips you may wish to share.Thank you,Greg
This is a really black day, after 5+ months ownership my 5712-1A has a scratch on the 2nd link near the clasp, can't take a pic as you can only see it under a certain light, I am in shock Ok of course I am joking, well it does have a micro scratch, only one which is not bad after 5 months and 30-40% wrist time, I decided to post this since someone posted not long ago that he wanted one but was too afraid of the scratch factor, it's watches, they will be scratched but by being a little careful it will be minimum, when I say the 1st in 5 months it's true, so I think it's really not bad as I am very careful but not paranoid.Buy watches, yes even RO's and Nautiluses, I don't think that should stop anyone from buying
