Invicta 11197 wrist watches news:
Based on this post:http://www.watchtalkforums.info/foru...orum/49690.htmI thought I would give you all an update on my visit to The National Watch and Clock Museum in Pennsylvania:Why choose 'this' watch, well read on.For those that do not know, The National Watch and Clock Museum in Pennsylvania, is truly one of your great treasures, not only has it got a fine collection of watches, more on that later, BUT it is one of the last places in the world still teaching BOTH watch making and repair. And to the highest levels.First, the Museum which is run by a truly truly nice guy named Noel B. Poirer - Museum Director. The museum has an OUTSTANDING collection of 'Tall Clocks' (Grandfather) and even owns one from the 'Father of Horology' - Thomas Tompion (1639-1713) - who in 1690 invented 'The Cylinder Escapement'. Tompion's work includes some of the most historic and important clocks and watches in the world. For even a museum to own one is rare and exciting. This is not a Tompion, but j
Well it had been sometime since my last purchase and everyone else seems to be buying new pieces like it's going out of style, I thought I would pull the trigger on this new watch. When I saw this I just had to have it, I think it's a pretty cool piece. It arrived today so I thought I would take some shots.

I currently have a Hamilton Chrono with a 7750 in it. I hadn't worn this watch in a week or so and made the mistake of setting the date while the time was between 9 pm and 3 am. (I was always vigilant about not doing this, except this one time)The date got stuck and left it alone. I pushed the stem in and wound the watch and it has worked perfectly except that now the date and day are on alternating schedules every 12 hours. It will flip the date at noon and the day at midnight. I took it to a local watchmaker and he indicated that the date wheel was broken and that it needed a complete servicing. He told me the date would not flip at all. (It had been for me though) I was quoted $400 for the whole thing. He said parts are expensive for that movement. I guess I would like to know two things:Does that sound like a reasonable price for the work?and does the diagnoses of a broken date wheel sound correct. I have never taken a watch to this particular shop, but wanted to try them out. Any
