Invicta 18524 wrist watches news:
With Baselworld 2015 about to begin, we thought it would be worthwhile to take a step back in time to Baselworld 1946 (though it wasn't even called Baselworld at that time – but you get the idea). Where did we get all these photos? eBay. Naturally. When we saw this series of photos of booths from the 1946 fair that was distributed to watch and clock retailers around the world listed on eBay, we knew we had to buy them to share with you. Some of the manufacturers you see here will be familiar to you, while others are more obscure and probably only familiar to expert vintage watch hunters. If I could go into a time machine and take the watches from one case, it would be the case shown in the top image of the Patek Philippe booth. It appears there are a few complicated Pateks in it (presumably at least one reference 1518), both pocket watches and wristwatches.I didn't think of Zenith as a clockmaker, but it appears that clocks were the main objects they were showing in Basel
So I have two Hamiltons and one is a Khaki Navy Sub quartz, which is my favorite beater watch. Anyhowthe other day I notice is running slow....way slow. So I reset it and watch it daily and it's losing 15 min per day.So me thinks it's the battery (I've had it about 2.5 years) so I go down to the shop and machine a tool to remove the case back...( I do all my battery changes, have for years without a problem) and I get the back off and very carefully remove the retainer ring and check the battery size. The watch is still running...realize I don't have that size, run down to the local Radio Shack and buy one ($5) and come back.Carefully I remove the old battery and replace the new one. And guess what? The watch won't run. Get online and try to see if there's a reset or something but to no avail. I even remove the crown and take out the whole movement...nothing.So now I test the batteries on my multimeter...both the old and new are right on at 1.5v....hmmmm...well lets try the old one
What one or two things are you NOT concerned about when buying a watch? For me it's lume. Don't care if any of my watches have it. What's yours; strap material, buckle type, movements, markers...?
Hi everyone,After lurking for a while and dreaming about this watch I finally pulled the trigger. I never thought I would like an AP until I held one in my hands and tried it on, it just blew me away. I love my Rolex's but AP is different. Every few months or so I run into one at a boutique or dealer and it just hurts trying them on since I wanted one so bad. First I wanted a white (or silver?) one because it is the first one I ever tried on and I love white watches. Then I was feeling for the black one because of the contrast to the markers and the depth of the dial. The white gold on a dark dial just pops. When I went another time to a dealer they only had a two-tone, I loved that as well, great play of metals and really complements the dial. Here's a bonus picture of a Rose Gold Jumbo - AMAZING watch!Of course, when they brought out a blue from the back when I was in Vegas that looked great as well, the boutique blue iconic color. Was it going to be this one??...but then something ha
