Invicta 80564 wrist watches news:
I picked up this 1936 Elgin tank watch with a manual 17 jewel movement cheap the other day when the winning bidder didn't pay. It has been refurbished and is in really great shape, but has one little flaw. The dial is slightly off center. I took it apart to take a peak, but it just isn't worth it to try and force the dial to move a millimeter or two and I'll just choose to ignore it.The case measure 39mm lug to lug and 25mm across. The hands are original and crystal is NOS. The case is 10k filled gold. The seller also serviced the movement as well. At 39mm top to bottom, it actually wears nicely and seems much larger than the Benrus I got a few weeks ago.
Just wanted a little info if anyone knows, I checked ranfft and they don't have any images or info on the 705 movement. Any help would be great, It runs a little slow, and needs a sub seconds hand easy fix! thanks guys!
and both are still much admired by many Cheers,Ron
This is something that I've been wondering about since I started collecting. How can two watches with two different crown types, one a screw down crown and the other a push/pull type crown, have the same WR rating? As I understand it a screw down crown has a small gasket or some kind of seal that is compressed when the crown is fully screwed down creating a barrier. What kind of seal does a push/pull crown use? Seems to me that if you can't get a compression seal of some kind then leakage is more apt to occur. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Hi guys,I'm looking at a Patek 96 at a local jeweler and would love to hear y'all thoughts. Please have a look and let me know what you think. https://.rolexforums/showthre...wpost&t=550909Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
