Patek Philippe's showing at Baselworld 2015 was, in my belief, its strongest in years. Orange monster regulation redux
Hey, guys,Just got my Monster, yesterday, and love it. It's running pretty fast (@ +26 seconds), but I'm not panicked about it.I have an Invicta Grand Diver that I love, and it started out running about +12, and stayed that way. After several weeks, I regulated it, to +/- 1 sec. per day. That's remarkable, and the result of a lucky stab at the regulating lever. My goal is to get within, say, 10 seconds (preferably fast) with my new Orange Monster.Here's my question (which is gonna sound more like a statement) I've never experienced a marked "settling in" effect, even though I've bought/owned dozens of automatic watches in my life. My autos have all stayed pretty much the way they were, when I first took them out of their boxes maybe plus or minus 5-10 seconds.I've never had a watch that started out 25-30 seconds fast "settle in" and equalize to within COSC standards, although I read lots of apocryphal anecdotes from guys who say this happens all the time. I know there are about 1 000 watch brands that make fine quatily watches for the price you pay, but I was wondering did you ever buy/experience a watch that you were not satisfied about its quality ? Was the quality bad for the price you paid ? An example could be a watch that cost more then $1000, but has a bezel that does not perfectly align.

For those who have gotten their EL Watch Talk Forum timepieces (you lucky dogs - I'm still waiting), I have a question:Is the second hand sweep as smooth as, say, on an ETA 2824? I don't know the Claro's frequency.On that TV show last night, a vendor was selling a watch with the Claro automatic. The close-up seemed to indicate more of a "tick" - like on my Seiko 6R15 automatic - than a "sweep."Yes, I could wait until I get home tonight - whenever that is:mad:- but the suspense is killing me.Thanks!
