What's in a name?
As I understand it, in metallurgy stainless steel is defined as an iron-carbon alloy with a minimum of 11.5 wt% chromium content. According to wiki, it is said that stainless steel does not stain, corrode or rust as easily as ordinary steel (it "stains less"), but it is not stain-proof.I do wish it was stain proof since to call it stainless as opposed to stain-less does give the impression that it is relatively stain proof, which it isn't.Why am I having a minor rant? We arranged to meet in Sydney and do some watch browsing with the possibility of a purchase if the right one at the right price was found.It was good to finally meet up with Muttley after having spoken via the 'net for so long. Omega Speedmaster Pro....1171 bracelet...
Hello,My vintage Speedmaster Pro man on the moon came standard with the newer speedmaster bracelet...anyhow.... I then wanted the 1171 bracelet also....Once I fitted it.... I felt 1 thing.....THE 1171 IS CHEAP CRAP!Why do I feel this way? sure a 1680 sub has a cheaper/old style braclet also compared to the new solid end link bracelet.... but this OMEGA 1171 feels like junk.....
