Hi Everyone:In the early part of baseball history, watches were given as awards, not rings as are commonly given today. It is believed that Baseball Commissioner Kennesaw Mountain Landis (the same K. M. Landis that suspended Shoeless Joe Jackson regarding the Black Sox scandal) started the tradition with the Yankee Piping Rock in 1928. There were a total of 35 made - one for each player (there were a total of 30 players in total), the team manager, the team owner and the team captain and one was made for Kennesaw Mountain Landis, who as the first commissioner of baseball, presented the watch to the '28 Yankee champions on Opening Day, 1929. The 1927 and 1928 Yankee teams were known as "Murderer's Row" and they are often considered the greatest baseball teams that ever existed. I am new to the luxury watch market and I am looking at buying my first.I have however set myself a task of getting something unusual in brand or design.Two brands I have identifed are:Armand Nicolet model numbers TM7, Lo8 and LS8.Frederique Constant model Heartbeat Tourbillion and Runabout.However in the UK Armand Nicolet do not have a distributor and Frederique Constant have one retailer but for their everyday watches and not for the models I have highlighted. How do I go about reserching prices, availabilty and eventually purchasing one of these watches. Also any advice on these watch brands would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

All,Lurking for a long time but never joined.. apologies.I'm looking for a 232.30.42.21.04.001 as a present for my wife.We are in the UK, looking at various sites the best price seems to be with Authentic Watches at $3750.00 and we can pay this via Paypal.They state that they will mark it as a $500 value on the package so that we try as much as possible to avoid customs charges (yes...).Are they reputable? Any good/ bad experiences/ anywhere cheaper?Thanks in advance..
