Jaeger LeCoultre Q3313407 wrist watches news:
Greetings All:I am in need of some help. I have been recently given a Omega De Ville Seamaster Gold Automatic (no date / believe ~1965) from my father; belonging to his father. However, I have not been able to find a similar watch on-line and I am curious when/where my grandfather obtained it.....My model has the 'De Ville' situated above the 'Seamaster' on the bottom-center of the watch face. No seahorse on the back; blank/clean casing on the back.....is this something anyone is familar with? Best / Jason
I have been a bit busy lately, so never got around to doing a proper introduction to my latest addition - a Sinn 857.I had seen this pop up from time to time in the daily wrist thread and elsewhere and really liked the tool-like functional look of it. I also like a GMT watch, which also added to my desire. I had originally liked it on the strap, but soon found I preferred the bracelet. The watch is made with tegimented steel, a process Sinn uses that makes it much harder than stainless; it also gives it a darker looking tint. The watch is very solid and well made. It really feels bulletproof without feeling like it weighs a ton. Everything works with good German precision, the bezel, crown etc. I feel very confident in using the watch.I might still get the strap for it, just to give me some options, but am loving it just the way it is.

I'm very excited about my latest find: a Meadowbrook in platinum:Hamilton marketed this version fairly aggressively but very unsuccessfully:Only 17 were produced in total, from 1929 to 1932. The initial price was a whopping $360 with white gold buckle or $400 with platinum buckle. This was later changed to "Price on Application" because of fluctuating platinum costs. One reference I have shows the prices scratched out and handwritten with new prices $500 with gold buckle and $550 with platinum buckle. By July 12, 1932, in the depths of the Depression, Hamilton was trying to unload unsold stock and announced "For the time being we are quoting the following prices on the Platinum Meadowbrookwith an 18K buckle $275. With a platinum buckle there is the following extra charge- ...25.00." On February 2, 1933 this was lowered further, to $250.The cases were handmade by S&W (Schwab & Wuischpard). Interestingly enough, Hamilton paid $115.50 per case in early 1929, while a few months e
