Big news out of La Chaux-de-Fonds: St¨¦phane Linder, CEO of TAG?Heuer, has resigned from his position at the helm of one of the world's largest watchmakers. Jean-Claude Biver, current Head of Watchmaking?at LVMH, will act as CEO of TAG?Heuer in the interim.Linder assumed the role of CEO just last year, after former CEO Jean-Christophe Babin left TAG?Heuer to become CEO at Bulgari.?The departure of Linder, who has worked at TAG?Heuer for 21 years, comes amidst significant?restructuring at the firm, including 46 layoffs in September and a refocus on lower-priced watches.Linder's resignation is the second departure of key management this year for TAG?Heuer, after Patrick Pruniaux, VP of Sales and Retail, left the Swiss watchmaker to join Apple.

extending bracelet
I have just purchased a used Raymond Weil watch. The bracelet is about 5mm to short. Raymond weil have quoted €48.00 for a link that adjoins the clasp. I don`t really want to pay that much. Is there such a thing as an extension link or are there standard sized after market links available. All opinions would be welcome. Thanks Jack

sundial for telling time?
Just got back from vacation in Mexico. It was a very romatic and beautiful vacation. Got back just in time for the big game tomorrow. I found this sundial on the resort that I thought may bring interest to some of you. I checked it several times and it seemed to keep fairly accurate time. I am thinking about getting one of these for my yard. I do not really know how to read them or much about them but I still want one. I thought it may be of interest. Take a look...This is the sundial. The outer ring with the numbers from 1-12 is mainly what I looked at. I am not sure what the inner ring symbols are or what the center ring hash marks indicate. Perhaps they tell more accurately the time?? I mainly focused on the outer ring numbers and it was generally close to the actual time of day. Millennials asking questions
While talking watches with different demographics, I can¡¯t help but notice the following opinions over and over again, especially from young educated individuals that are less susceptible to any hype:1) Why does Rolex produce diving watches that can go to depths humans can¡¯t, when all it does is negatively affect everyday wearability2) Why would you drill an extra hole in the case (HEW), when the few people that actually need one are unlikely to dive with a $10k+ watch3) Why would you make brightly bi-coloured bezels, when Rolex needs to project elegance and class4) Why would you continue to produce so called sports and tool watches, when people doing sports wear Apple, Fitbit, Suunto, etc. and don¡¯t want to worry about their watch while doing so (¡­ substitute your own ¡°is it safe¡± activity¡­). In addition, a smart watch provides significantly more functionality.5) Why does Rolex stick to obsolete looking cases, instead of designing with simple, modern, and elegant curves that project c
