My First Watch.. I need advice. Limited Budget
To begin, I have always admired anything mechanical. While I am not mechanically inclined, I have always enjoyed the artwork and the craftsmanship of things like buildings, motorcycles, everything. There as always been something that made watches appealing to me. I remember when I was 12 I wanted a clear watch so I could see the movement and it was different than all of the other watches my peers had.Fast forward twenty years and now I am back into looking for watches. I know the world of watches is so large, I have no idea where to begin. I know select brand names, but I want something that I am not likely to see. I am a teacher so I need a watch that has clean lines and a parent is not going to look at me and think I am over paid. I have a budget of $700-$800. I have had a recommendation of Lum Tec, and their watches are very beautiful. Furthermore, I am very excited to know that the owners are present and visible on chat forums. That means a lot to me. Look what I found!
I'm selling my house in NY and throwing out stuff I don't need. I came accross a small box with some of my father's things (he died in 1992). I thought I already had all his old watches which included an Omega, Hamilton, and Seiko. But in the box was this.The back of the case says it's 14k and the mesh band is stamped 14k as well.Thanks to ulackfocus I know that M6 means the watch was made in 1966.I took it to my watchmaker to try putting in a battery. Sure enough it started humming away and the second hand began it's smooooothe sweep.

Just looking for opinions from the TRF family....How many here have gone from owning Rolexes to AP.If so do your Rolexes ever get wrist time? Whats the split?Has anyone just completely stopped with Rolex?I am taking the plunge and am wondering what I am getting myself into!

Help with identification (approx age, maybe value, etc)
The watch I really need help with, I can't seem to upload (I'll try again tomorrow). But, I do have these pics of another Omega I received on trade last month. I was told it's from the 60's. It has an original sharkskin omega strap. Any help would be appreciated (value, age, etc). I want to get my other Omega on here for identification because it is my great grandfathers that was passed down to me (I don't want to sell it, just interested in an approximate time period it may have been made).
