Longines Longines 39923 wrist watches news:
I was finally able to pull the trigger on an RGM. It's certainly the most elegant watch in my collection, and probably one of the few I'll pass on to my kids some day.Beautiful work - thanks Roland and Richard!(I'll add more pictures soon...)
Adding to my collection of uncommon dials with black-enamel, instead of the usual luminous, painted within the numerals, here is a 1932 Stanley in yellow gf, pretty nicely preserved, except for slight wear to the dial. This was one of the Explorer series of the early '30s, most of which having the 19 jewel cal. 401 rectangular movement (a higher grade of the Illinois 207), and one of the two in gold fill instead of solid gold (the other was the Livingstone, naturally!) not counting the later 10K rolled gold plate incarnation of the Andrews. Will Roseman's site has the following info: StanleyHere are some pics I just took...(I thought that two of the mounting screws were missing, but the photo on Will's page featuring this movement shows the identical two "empty" holes; can anyone fill me in? cal. 401)And my others again:
A little while ago I did a SOTC post which has prompted me to do this one. I guess most of us have some kind of wish list, whether it is just a few ideas floating in our heads about what watch we would like next or, if you are a bit compulsive like me, a formal list broken up into categories (I'm sick, I know!) This is my list; I'm not sure how much of it I will actually manage to acquire, but it has been fun thinking about!Must HaveThe first few watches are on my "Must Have" list. The first one on the list is, of course, my Grail Watch! For me it is the Zenith Chronomaster Grande Date El Primero 03.0240.4010/01.C495. I first saw some seriously beautiful watches in some of the posts by Donut which got me looking into these watches. When I saw this one it just sang out to me! I have yet to see it in the flesh, which will be difficult as the closest Zenith AD is a 2 hour plane ride away. I hope to get this next year but have to work out how - new from the AD, new from grey market, used,
Hi all...I will be flying over seas shortly and will be going thru Pearson International in Toronto, which has an Omega store inside security in the International Departures. Has anyone ever purchased from this Omega store, if so do they offer any discounts. Looking at getting a SeaMaster. Any thoughts and replies are most welcome.
I'm thinking about getting a Black Bay. I want the red bezel with the rose on the dial. Can you get an OEM riveted bracelet? What is the cost? Thanks.
