Longines L2.673.4.51.6 wrist watches news:
Hey guys...I've read a few articles about Omega's stainless steel quality in comparison with other competitors...They state that Omega's steel isnt as good as other brands, and also it gets easely scratched. Is it true???
Seeing there is no official AP forum, I think this may be the best place to ask the following:Which RO to choose?15202 or 15400?On the one hand, the 15202 has the original 2121 movement and that has the closest specs to the ones released in 1972. But as good as that movement is, the 3120 in the 15400 is often times referee to as "the greatest of all time"Plus it's dimensions are not far off and is significantly cheaper. But money/cost aside? Is there a clear cut winner between these two obviously gorgeous watches? And I'm keeping it to these two models because I'm focused on the classic original design...
After a long wait, I finally pulled the trigger for a black dial 15400. Here to share some pics to let you join my happiness! It's an early X'mas gift for myself this year.Mine is a late 'H' series but carries the newest features of Audemars Piguet found in the new 'I' series. The new design green card paper boxThe new green piano finished wooden boxThe new black leather interiorThe new version clasp without 'AP' logoThe wrist shot - the beauty of Grande Tapisserie pattern in black. Can't explain by simple words until you see it real yourself. The beautiful 3120 in-house movement with the gold rotor with the Audemars Piguet family logo. I bought this watch mainly for the display caseback. The bracelet - the beauty of the brushed finish SS and shines like a gem. The polish, the link with chamfered edge are very 'AP'.My apologies for the poor quality pics. Thanks for watching and hope you also like it!
I just purchased a new PO from an AD. The watch is running +4.5sec /day which as you all know is within COSC specs. If I have my local watch maker regulate it, the warranty will be voided. I contacted my local Omega AD about getting it regulated and their reply was : As an Authorized Dealer of Omega, we can send your Planet Ocean in to Omega for a service under warranty. Omega does not authorize any in-house watch makers for warranty service. There will be no charge, I will however need the warranty card and it will take 6-8 weeks to complete. The Planet Ocean is Chronometer Certified and this means that the time keeping needs to fall within a specific daily rate. That rate is -4 seconds to +6 seconds a day. This means that your timepiece is working within the Chronometer Certified range so I cannot guarantee that sending it in to Omega for regulation will change your daily rate significantly.Does anyone here have experience sending a watch to Omega for regulating? I know the 850
Preference?
