Longines L2.753.4.73.0 wrist watches news:
I just picked up this 1922 Sterling Silver cushion - with the 986A movement. Had my watch guy give it the once over. Actually, he told me about it and I purchased it through a friend of his. Here are a couple of pictures:I also picked up this Greenwich a while back. Here is a seller picture:And a couple of "after" shots:I don't know why, but the Greenwich really appeals to me - other than the Hastings, not many other Hamilton's look anything like it from that era. I just think that stepped bezel and the "rounded square" shape are classic. Thanks for looking!Edit: I don't know why I didn't see this before (especially as I was taking the picture and imposed in the background is a very similar if not identical watch!), but obviously the hands are not original. The good news is that I have a very nice coral filled Wilshire with gold tone hands in this shape (which I know were not original and have been looking for blue steel replacements). Can anyone on here, who is more in the know than me, confirm to me whether or not this watch has been discontinued? It is still on the AP website, and I have been told different stories from different people in the UK and wondered if anyone had a definitive answer for me.Cheers!
I took my Chrono sextant (quartz movement) to my local watch shot for a full service and they told me the watch was very complicated and it would cost $700 for the full service. My Rolex with automatic movement service from the same shop was $500. Does that seem high to anyone else?
Long shot, but anyone know a dealer who happens to have new old stock of this model? Thanks
