Maurice Lacroix Maurice Lacroix 39055 wrist watches news:
Vianney Halter?gained famed for his unorthodox design and arguable creation of the high-end?steampunk watch market. A known science fiction junkie, Halter's mixed reputation in the watch industry ranges from positive concerning his vision, to negative concerning his follow-through in "completing" his work. After many years of relative silence (about seven), Halter returns with a new watch called the Deep Space Tourbillon that is a less than subtle homage to his love of Star Trek.Specifically, the Deep Space Tourbillon watch is meant to look much like the Deep Space 9 space station from the Star Trek series with the same name. Halter even borrowed the name from the fictional vessel for his watch, and the station's large curved spires show up in the watch as hour and minute hands. The center part of Deep Space 9 is here produced as a triple axis tourbillon, and in all, the timepiece looks like a 1950's era UFO. For sure, the watch sums up Vianney as a person and as a watchmaker, but was
Company Switzerland Oris released photos of two new watches from their collection Artelier that they will be displaying at Baselworld next month.
Now that I have had this timepiece for above 7 months, I think I can truthfully write a balanced review of it as the honeymoon period is over. As you read this, you may not think so, but keep in mind that I have had it for enough time that I can speak what needs to be spoken. What can be said of a watch that loves to be looked at?Even though the popularity of the Yacht-Master is not as great as some of the Rolex models, it is nevertheless a timepiece with its own aesthetic character and demand that requires even the most seasoned Rolex WIS to formulate an opinion. Especially so when it comes to the SS/18K versions of this timepiece. Now add a Black Mother of Pearl and you either have anathema or adoration! My wife purchased this astonishing watch for me while we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in Switzerland during the month of September of 2008. The setting for the event was Bucherer¡¯s in Lucerne, just around the corner from the fabled Chapel Bridge. Lucerne is a enduring
Hey gang, Long time listener, first time caller. I've found this forum to be exceptionally informative, as there must be several centuries worth of knowledge from the WIS collective here. I only wish I had a Rolex to join all the great GTGs!Just finished college/post grad and now have moved into the real world. I recently bought my first "real" watch (Oris Divers Date) and am very pleased as it should see me through both business meetings and all my various sporty endeavors. That being said, I was looking to get a Rolex SD in the next several years as my everyday, grown-up, starting a family heirloom watch. Its understated timeless look, bomb-proof construction, storied history, and above all, top-tier movement make it a goal well worth working towards. But alas, its pending discontinuation is challenging my grand scheme. Here is my dilemma- do I beg, plead, steal, and bank-loan now to jump on it while it's still available, or do I trust that in the 12-24 months I had planned to purchas
Hey,My cousin just gave me a few watches of his to sell. I noticed that one of the Breitlings is not that old (has Sapphire Crystal) has patina on the dial, hands and numbers. It looks pretty cool, is this a desirable trait or does this mean there is something wrong with the watch that I should be disclosing (or do watertight cases age this way?)? The watch sets and runs well and the case was never opened. Some Macro shots
