Maurice Lacroix LC6358-SS001-33E wrist watches news:
So, I had to travel go on a roadtrip for my job, driving from Oconomowoc, WI to Ft. Dodge, IA. Being a boring drive, I took note of all the Hamilton related highway signs.HAMILTON county, IowaBOONE River (which was in Hamilton county)EllsworthWinthropRyanGRANT county, WILancasterNot bad for a 330 mile trip.
Guys, here is my problem and a letter regarding what I want done. This "repair" was done by a local mall jeweler. Can you give me some advice regarding my problem? Photos following:Dear Jack,I am writing to convey to you my concern and displeasure regarding the recent ¡°repair¡± that your watchmaker made to my watch. As you recall, I brought my watch in for a pin on a mesh bracelet to be replaced and for the bracelet to be attached to the watch. When I picked up the watch after the repair, the bracelet pin had been replaced and the watch attached to the bracelet. The watch was not attached to the bracelet with a spring bar, as is the normal practice, but with a bracelet pin. I talked to you about this and asked you to talk to the watchmaker about why he did it this way. I did not pursue this problem with you because I thought it would be easier for me to deal with getting a thin spring bar to fit the bracelet, which I might add are easily obtained, than to bring the watch back for a fix
I was doing some reading on another watch forum (not nearly as good as this one though) and read that some people felt that handwinding a 7750 was not a good idea. I have two Hamilton Khaki auto chronos and usually handwind them before i put them on (if I haven't worn them in a while) I hadn't heard that this was bad and I know some people just wear them to get them going. Since I take off my watch at night I don't want it to run down. Any thoughts?
Hey GuysIs there a way to clean or remove the scratches on stainless steel bracelets?
Hi there! I recently inherited a Cotton Bowl Classic Rolex/Tudor Day-Date (7017/0) (autowinding) from my Grandfather who was on the Nebraska coaching staff for the 1974 Cotton Bowl. To my knowledge, the watch has either never been worn or was very seldomly worn. This also means that I don't believe it has been serviced since 1974. I fully wound it and the second hand works perfectly, but the minute and hour hands run very slow. I know almost nothing about watches, but I'm wondering if anyone on here can help me with a ballpark estimate of what I should expect to spend to have it properly serviced. I'd like to avoid getting taken to the cleaners due to my lack of experience. Thanks in advance for your replies!Ben
