- I bought this watch for my own use and was very happy when I received it as it looks great - however I can no longer even wear it as more than 1/2 of the stone have fallen out. The watch works great but looks terrible.

My brother in-law has a few vintage watches he would like repaired to working order and he sent them to me because I use a guy down the street that is an old-time watch repair guy and does work at good prices. He told me that theses three watches (Benrus, Gruen, Lemania) had too many things wrong with them to be worth fixing. He said in their current condition they're probably worth ten bucks each and to fix them (assuming he could find the parts) would be a couple hundred dollars.I was hoping he would at least give me an estimate but he seemed to be of the mindset that it wasn't worth it and he's an old guy and I didn't want to hassle him about it.So, my question is (for any vintage watch buffs) Should I get a second opinion? Is any watch fixable or worth fixing? If so, do you have any recommendations on who I might send them to for an estimate?
Hopefullyl, I can figure out how to attach the sad photo I took of the Mascot helping me open my clniic this morning. I am ashamed to admit I will need to go back and review the nicely written instructions I have seen about posting photos. I did take the photoI am just a little technology challenged regarding importing photos from photobucket.Bear with me guys. I will give it my best shot. Thanks,Jeff
