The Volvo Ocean Race is one of the most demanding sporting events in the world. IWC celebrates its role as the Official Timekeeper with the launch of the new Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph ¡°Ocean Racer¡± Special Edition. The Volvo Ocean Race is an around-the-world yacht race held every three years. The current race began this month in Alicante, Spain. Over the next nine months, the crews will battle it out on four oceans taking them to five continents, and they will cover a total of 38,739 nautical miles, or nearly 45,000 statute miles. The longest leg stretches almost 7,800 statute miles from Auckland, New Zealand to Itajai, Brazil. If someone else can positively identify this watch as NOT being an American made Hamilton, at the Lancaster PA plant in 1988, then I would very much like to know where it was made and by whom. Every source I could find on military watches claims that the GG-W-113 is an American made Hamilton, made in Lancaster PA., and that it was the last American made Hamilton:Thanks, in advance!
Just a final reminder - The IWC photo contest entry deadline is SUNDAY MARCH 2nd, 11:59pm ET..If you got an IWC - be sure to get your entries (up to 5) in by then!! PM them to me to get them entered..

I first really noticed the AP's here on TRF. Kept being drawn to them. We don't have a dealer here in Arizona so I planned to finally be able to look at some in person on a recent trip to Dallas. Along the way, I sold a watch in preparation for the trip. Before I could travel I saw a WG Daytona on here from a trusted seller and pulled the trigger. I love it, so no regrets. Will keep that Daytona forever. It did make it hard to wait though. Fast forward to my trip to grandma's - I was able to look at some AP watches in Dallas at Eisemans (highly recommend them) on the advice of JJ here in the forum. With the purchase of a PM Daytona my budget was limited. I had alerted a couple of trusted sellers on TRF what I was looking for and on Friday I received a message. Exactly what I wanted had been traded in Since I now have the WG Daytona I traded in a SS Daytona. Watch will be here on Monday.Any guesses?
