Michele MWW26A000010 wrist watches news:
hi allnew to all of this so please bear with memy partner recently purchased this watch for our wedding and we have been trying to do some research on it. unfortunately, we don't seem to be getting anywhere. the closest one that we could find was a pilot one. we are led to believe that it is dated 1945.after reading a lot of sites we then had a look for any sort of stamped id on the watch but could not find any. do we take that as a bad sign?if there is anything else that i can let you know in helping us i will be more than happy to let you know. sorry, but the quality of the photo, hopefully attached, is not of the best.any sort of info on this watch would be greatfully recieved.many thanks for reading.
i recently sold my Gmt 1 to a collector for US 3000. This watch has the flat shoulder guards , plexiglass, and painted hour markings without the stainless steel rings. He actually took me by complete surprise by putting down the cash right away as soon as I mentioned how much I wanted for it. Man, the watch was gone in a flash!!! Dont spare me...tell me if I just made a fatal mistake...
I have intentionally held off on purchasing vintage watched simply because my knowledge of them is not as strong as I would like to be in order to feel comfortable buying them. Of course, I see beautiful vintage watches posted and lust after them, but making a purchase was a bit daunting. Until I saw this guy, I had to have it...I have a couple of modern Stowa watches on order (new Chrono and Durowe MO), but the wait for those could be a bit yet, I needed something to hold me over. Then I saw this guy on the bay, I was determined to win it. So I did The watch is obviously a Stowa Chrono from the 60's, though I still need to learn more about this particular watch. The condition is incredible and it works beautifully. Overall a stunning watch, very surprised with this one! Here is one pic, will get more soon (need proper day light to due the dial color justice).
How are watch companies financed? This interesting question I was asked at a luncheon speech I gave on last Saturday to a small group of retail bankers here in Switzerland. The way to finance watch companies depends very much on the size of their operations.Operations like those of Swatch Group, Richemond or other larger group of companies are most commonly financed by a holding company. Depending on the group, funding is comprised of core capital only (shares issued and subscribed to in full by the holding) or of a mixture of core capital and debentures issued by the holding company. In such an event, it is the holding being held responsible for the debentures and not the single watch company. The smaller the companies become the more they depend on share capital underwritten by the founding shareholders and often supplemented by loans underwritten by the same group of people. Banks are usually more than reluctant to finance watch companies lest they are of a certain size.Recently, a thi
