After 19 months, I decided to have the bracelet brushed. After seeing the DeepSeas and AirKings with a fully brushed oyster bracelet, I knew that the bracelet on my GMT-C should be brushed. Since taking ownership of the GMT-C, as well as when I owned a Turn-O-Graph, I was always somewhat schizophrenic on the polished center link.The bracelet came out fantastic. I predict that when there is a mad-dash to take ownership of the new all -stainless Submariners, many will have the polished center link brushed. A brushed bracelet matches the satin finish on the watch head, fits Rolex's pedigree and history, and frankly, I think Rolex got it wrong when they included polished center links in the specifications. What was the first watch that piqued your interest?
What watch was it that made you take an interest in watches? For me it was an Omega in the early '80's in a style I've only seen once since, and that was recently and was on the wrist of an honest to goodness merchant marine ship's captain. His route takes him right past the Somali coast on a regular basis - not somewhere I'd like to be. It's funny that when I saw it again I didn't like it nearly as much as I did back when, but I'd still like to have one someday just because it was the first one that really caught my eye.It was a Seamaster two tone that I can't really describe, but if I ever see another like it I'll post an image to see if anyone can help identify it.It was shaped similar to this one, wasn't a chronograph, had a stainless steel (maybe also two tone) strap and may have been from the '70's and not the '80's.
