Montblanc 09670 wrist watches news:
One thing I really like is reading reviews of (Seiko) watches. It is very interesting to learn about watches you have never owned or handled yourself and also to get the views of the owner on his/hers likes and dislikes. I have only made one attempt myself at writing one (click picture below). Wish I had more time and more skills in writing and knowledge about the English language as I would like to be able to do this for all my watches.Have you any reviews you would like to share?Stefan
As I mentioned on another thread, I used to collect pocket watches, about 20 years ago. I lived in a neighborhood that still had a couple old-fashioned family jewellers, with a watchmaker on the premises. The one I went to had been trained in the Army during WWII, so he knew the Hamilton watches I brought him like the back of his hand. He charged $50 for a 'cleaning' - disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and timing. Balance staff replacement added $25 to the total. What a deal!Of course, he was pretty old back then, and even if he were still alive, he'd be about 90!Since I started getting into vintage wristwatches, I've searched in vain for somebody like that, but I think they're extinct - neighborhood watchmakers. I've looked on the Internet, with Yelp and the other local business search engines, and it seems like there's this yawning chasm between 'battery changers' on the one hand, and high-end, Swiss-trained folks fixing watches that retail for several thousand dollars. One of th
A couple weeks ago I asked for some input concerning battery changes. As a result of your input I bought some tools and decided to give it a try. I had 5 watches that had stopped working, presumably due to dead batteries, and I had a very old screw in back Accutron to experiment with. First of all the Accutron was very interesting and I basically found that much like my old Canon F1 35mm film camera replacement batteries of the mercury cell variety are not readily available. On to the watches. If you have never seen an open caseback on a quartz watch you may be a bit surprised. I was.First up is the Golana Swiss Aero Pro model AE100-2. Where's the movement? Under that black plastic spacer. In this case the movement is an ETA 805.112 0-jewel quartz that requires a #377 battery. This movement leaves a lot of empty space in a modern size watch case.Next up was a Swiss Legend Throttle. This watch has the famous or infamous, depending on your point of view, ETA G10.211 quartz chronog
Hi guys, a new comer to the Patek world, I really enjoy the design and fit of the Patek watches. As some might know, I am currently wearing a 5167A as my daily beater. And I also have a 5235G just arrived 2 days ago. Next week, I am expecting to receive my long waited 5712/1A. I originally plan to acquire 5726/1A or 5726A then 5980R from AD (depending on availability). But after having 3 PPs in 4 months. I started wondering if I do want more than 2 Nautilus (I will have a 5711/1A coming early next yr). Should I widen my scope to have some traditional styles? I currently have AP 15202ST, PP 5130P, 5270G (BLK), 5960/1A and 5524G in mind. I probably will not consider buy a GC watch in the very near future. Your advices are well appreciated.
