But now I think Seiko will start focusing on having Seiko Solar watches enter more of the world market (especially in higher-end forms). Citizen was clever about pushing their light powered watches as being more user-friendly than basic quartz watches.One of the main drawbacks of quartz watches is the need to change the batteries from time to time. Movements such as the Seiko Solar and Citizen Eco-Dive have batteries in the movements that are charged by photovoltaic cells in the watch. The lifespan of these movements (assuming they don't break or malfunction) should be close to one's lifespan. Dear All,in recent time I have been discovering/investigating the world of high-end Seiko and probably my recent posts seem quite disorganized, I shall try to explain my interest for all the watches I am asking about soon just not to have you feel that I am asking completely crazy questions.This time the "crazy question" is about the watch in the subject, it is a Grand Seiko GMT in a special edition which includes a different rotor in the movement and a transparent back and the question is the following: does anyone know whether this is a limited edition or can be found somewhere new still these days? New black shoes for my 44mm...
Picked up a black gator strap from Clearwater Friday. It came pretty matte black, I polished it up just a touch (hey, I'm a Vet, we shine leather) to get JUST a lil gloss on it... Came out great, though the pix sux. I REALLY need to upgrade my 6 yr old iPhone!!! Thoughts on strap????

I am just back from Montego Bay. Was in the shops and a store call Bijoux had many top brands but no Rolex. I asked the mgr and he said they have Rolex in their port store (for the cruise ships). I had him call about any stainless sports models...they had the Sub Date and a James Cameron Deep Sea. He offered it to me at 5% off their msrp of $11750 USD. Could have bought it at $11,116. I know, that is a great deal and I could flip it, but I passed. They didn't have it in the store I was at and I would need to come back. Also didn't want to deal with customs (although very easy) and selling. Anyone going to Jamaica and is interested, they probably still have it.
