Movado 3600044 wrist watches news:
Hey all. I'm looking for a Seiko watch...perhaps this model. A relatively simple but nice looking watch. The question I have about Seiko watches in this price range is the movement. I've poked around a bunch of sites looking to find out what the movement is in this watch and can't find it. I can't even tell if it's battery powered. I guess I just don't know where to look. Anyway, that's what I'm interested in. I can get it for around $170, which is in my price range. What kind of movement will a Seiko in this price class have? Will it have a jeweled movement and will it be battery powered. Does Seiko have a standard movement for these basic style watches and is it reliable and accurate?I may also poke around Ebay and see if I can pick up a used watch. It seems some on this board have made good deals there. Is that typical or is it a minefield to try and buy a used watch on Ebay? Any help is welcome. TIA.Welcome to our forum! I thought that the Longines Forum might be interested in this very sad looking Longines pocket watch that belonged to my late father who was a watchmaker with his own small repair shop until the early 1960s. It has quite an interesting story attached to it: A very good customer of my fathers had a similar watch to this one that was in a really bad way. He wanted to give it to his son who was emigrating to Canada. As my father could not obtain the necessary parts at short notice he "cannibalised" his own watch. His watch was then put in a drawer at home and forgotten about for many years. My father died way back in 1992 and my mother always said that she wanted to have it repaired for me. Unfortunately this never happened and I only came across the watch when I was clearing my mothers home after she died recently. I am trying to find someone to repair the watch but no-one in the UK seems willing to take it on. If anyone can supply me with any info about this watch it would be greatly ap
Is this a group of brand watches that has the same company umbrella? What are the brands under these organization/company? Can someone be kind enough to give me a brief description of this company?ThanksR
Hi everyone!I am having a hard time debating between three calatravas and would like your opinion.First, I am torn between the 5119 and 3919. I tried on the rose gold 5119, and it is absolutely gorgeous. I thought the size of the dial was great, but the one minor issue I have with this model is that the roman numerals appeared to me a tad bit stretched.Which brings me to the 3919--I love the proportions of the roman numerals on the 3919, but the downsides I fear stem from the fact that it is preowned from Tourneau, which comes with the store's 2-year warranty and no box.If I were to choose the 5119, the other question is how important the Tiffany branding is. The store representative touted the Tiffany branding as unique and added collector's and waxed poetic about the stamping process. I am truly a fan of the simplicity of the dial and watch itself, and the Tiffany & Co to me sits awkwardly at the bottom of the subsecond ring. I did think it looks spectacular on the 5196 with
