Our grandparents bought their clocks, silverware and watches from jewelry stores (AD's). As competition heated, a lot of companies started importing or taking their manufacturing off shore and found other ways to sell their goods cheaper and through other channels..Timex is a good example as they started selling their watches in department stores and even drug stores(unheard of at that time) at much cheaper prices. This put a lot of pressure on companies like Hamilton who kept their product at top quality and protected the jewelry stores margins. Soon the cheaper watch was the watch de jour and the rest is history (this scenario is quite simplified but accurate enough for this thread)...With prices going up, the internet and gray market dealers, are AD's(jewelry stores, watch stores) headed into obscurity as watch dealers? I have heard that watches are probably the item with the smallest margin of any item sold in a jewelry store...What do you think?

Happy new year to all members!!I am so glad to share my new rolex which I fall in love immediately when I saw it. And I am fortunate to get one brand new with reasonable price. (yes, still alot to me!! ). Here the unboxing:Generated from my LG H990 using tools.rackonlyThis is not the hottest 116519ln with ceramic bezel, the 116519ln is surely the stunning watch, but I like this 116509 more with it solid bracelet and the white gold bezel, a more even weight, and which also remind me the vintage 6265 panda daytona look. What's more, I prefer this one a little bit more over the arabic panda dial as this dial give me a simple and clean looking with the great steel/black panda :) Generated from my LG H990 using tools.rackonlyOn the wrist the watch looks stunng, the steel color match the warm-tone white gold perfectly!
