Omega Omega 21601 wrist watches news:
One thing we have noticed over the years at ABTW is, with watches, nothing is as simple as it may first seem. Take, for example, the humble automatic watch movement that we see in numerous watches today. This could be the reliable ETA 2892 or 2894 that are used by various companies, the Soprod A10 that is seen more frequently nowadays, or an in-house watch movement made by Omega or Rolex. Whatever the watch movement, the automatic rotor and its works is a basic complication that is seen so frequently that it is almost taken for granted. As we know, the benefits of an automatic rotor are constant winding of the mainspring and ¨C thanks to the higher average tension in the mainspring when the watch is being worn ¨C more consistent power through the gear train. This means the watch should keep better time as you avoid the diminished amplitude and associated rate loss as the mainspring winds down. It is also convenient in our hectic lives, when we may forget to wind our watch each morning bef
Autodromo is one of the brands that has really surprised us in the last couple of years. When we first saw their watches, we were thrilled by their unique designs, nothing being stock, and attention to detail. As the brand has matured, so have their designs and knowledge of watch making, which was very clear in their second offering, the limited edition Monoposto mechanical. One of our favorite pieces from last year, this utterly unique watch has character and finishing that far surpassed its sub-$1000 price point.Their newest line continues this trend of development with what will likely be their most popular watch to date, the Prototipo. Where the previous Autodromo watches were inspired by the history of Italian race cars, with elements translated into the watch components, the Prototipo is inspired by late 60's and 70's racing chronographs. These watches, namely those by Heuer, were inspired by the tracks and vehicles themselves, with lively designs that used color and form to recr
Any information on this Speedmaster?Reference number?Market value?Anything special about this particular model?Seems like it's from the late 90s.Thank you!
In 2001 I purchased this Hamilton. It was a numbered limited addition offered to members of the Scottish Rite (32nd degree Masons). What I can tell you about it is, Base metal bezel and case (yuck) 18k gold plated. Quartz movement. Hand painted dial. Also printed on the dial is, "Hamilton Artcraft". SS back with Hamilton copyright along with numbers, 8458 which I presume is the model number and marked water resistant. Also, my initials, and serial number 0505 along with the year, 2001.Can anyone tell me who owned Hamilton in 2001 and any more info on the company at that time?I can say I have only had to change out the strap and I don't believe it has eaten but two batteries before I put the one that is running the watch in it now. Total of three, not bad.
...on a crystal for this watch:Engraved Pendant Watch. Either glass or plastic is fine. It is a ladies' convertible pendant watch as shown here:I think it is pre-1924 as the back cover is hinged and engraved "Guaranteed 25 years". As always, any help is greatly appreciated. I will post before and after pictures when completed. Thanks again, gatorcpa
