G. Gerlach Lux-Sport Review
When we last reviewed a G. Gerlach watch, I concluded by saying that I was more excited about the potential of the brand than the watch itself (the watch being the Otago, a 70's style diver). I felt that they had an opportunity, by being a Polish-made brand that used Asian movements, to sort of do whatever they wanted. They could set their own tone. Newbie Speedmaster Questions
Hello and thanks for taking my questions.I'm interested in either a 3570 (Hesalite) or 3573 (Sapphire sandwich) watch.First off, this will be a daily use watch at work so it needs to be fairly durable/reliable.Now to my confusion...lol1. I've heard and read conflicting reports on the Hesalite scratch and polish-ability ie,some say most scratches can be easily buffed out, some say the Hesalite doesn't lookas clear or original after being buffed ie. the scratches will always leave a "look" afterwards. Where do those of you who've polished stand?2. The cost of replacing Hesalite vs. Sapphire? Posts I've seen are approx. $100 vs. $500. Is that about right for the total cost of replacement?3. Magnetic shielding. I work in an environment with some magnetic fields (Boeing cockpit) and am wondering about the shielding of the 3570 vs. the glass of the 3573.Some have said the shielding doesn't really matter because the face is relatively unshielded anyway. New Oris small seconds 1000M Diver
A few weeks back, I entered the Oris arena with a Maldives LE. Wore the Maldives a few days and really enjoyed the looks. Great dial, applied markers, orange lume, small seconds etc. But, just couldn't get used to the smaller 44mm sizing as well as the lightness of the titanium. So off the Maldives went to another prospective owner and the search was again on for another Oris.When I came across the 1000m diver in blue and 47mm, I knew this was going to complement my other watches as I do not have a 1000m diver nor a watch with a blue dial. Great wrist presence and it truly is a working mans diver with great looks to boot!!

Rare Elgin Military Dial ! ! !
Hey guys !I picked up this SWEET Elgin Trench Watch at the NAWCC Convention over the weekend. I just got finished putting it all back together a few minutes ago and I wanted to post my results. Elgin made a TON of size 3/0s trench watches but very few were made like this one. Your probably saying to yourself "this looks just like a bunch of other ones that Stan has done", but take a very close look! This is a size 0s Elgin military dial ! ! ! It's a true 28.94mm enamel dial, this is very rare and it's the first one that I have ever seen in a size 0s, in this style. This is a VERY common dial for size 3/0s trench watches but NOT size 0s. Take a look at the length of the minute hand, it does not quite make it all the way out to the outer chapter of minute markers it is about 1mm short. PLUS, this is a 1916 size 0s movement with 15 jewels, rather a hard year to find as this was the final year that Elgin manufactured size 0s. They made nearly 3,000,000 size 0s movements and this is one of
