Panerai bracelet & strap change Tutorial ¨C for the ¡°new¡± system introduced in 2007 with the "J" series.As we all know, one of the great things about Panerai is the ability to be able to change straps.I have a 220 with the new system, and it is really easy to do.So how do you do it?This is the watch on a Panerai OEM strap:These are the end links to the bracelet:The bracelet in its entirety:]And the bracelet end pieces from the top:As you can see, the end pieces are curved so they fit flush against the case with no need for the cut out in the case that was seen on the earlier bracelet models.Locate the push pin which is spring loaded. What I Did On My Winter Vacation
Well, PART of what I did, anyway.A month or so back, I acquired a little Elgin DeLuxe Tonneau, from about 1945. It lacked a crystal, and the movement was 'runs and stops'. The hands didn't quite match, either.As part of my relaxation this week, I brought it back to life!This is a model Elgin sold for a couple years in the mid-40s. This one was made before the introduction of the Durapower mainspring, so there's no 'dp' on the dial.I had to go in to work to take care of my cells on Wednesday, so I took along this and another movement to clean. I discovered that the original blue steel mainspring had either never been replaced, or had been replaced with another blue steel spring.Completely shot. Pretty blue, though! Luckily, I have a 558 parts movement that had a Durapower spring that has lots of life left in it! It looked like this one:Today, I carefully cleaned all the jewels with pegwood, cleaned the pivots with pithwood, reassembled and lubed the movement, and now it's back in go

My choice would be the 3820. The combination of breguet numbers and those beautiful hands (anyone know what they are called?) combined with the lack of a seconds hand makes it for me.
