If you fall into that category, you're in luck: this spring, Sotheby's Hong Kong will auction one of the world's largest collections of Swatch watches and ephemera from a private collector. Over 5,800 elements are included in the collection, which is to be offered as a superlot valued at $1.3 million.This behemoth assortment of watches, art, and other collectibles comes from a European collector, Paul Dunkel, who cites the widespread appeal of Swatch watches as the catalyst for building his collection over the past 25 years. How criminal banksters have stopped my watch purchases
You know, I just realized why I haven't bought a watch in a while. I was about ready to buy an Orient - and would have - but I no longer use my credit card. I paid it off and tore it up. I do have one, but it is only for flights, hotels and vacations. I am making no more credit purchases. Why? Because the banksters jacked me up to insane usury levels and I won't be chumped like that. I refuse to be reamed by these criminals any longer. And I'm a good customer with a great credit score. Still, they want to rip me off. So I'm out. I don't know how they think this is good for their business.So I'm back to cash basis. Problem is, I can always think of more immediate things to do with it. When I see a watch, I used to like to jump on it out of pure fun and pay later. It was a good system. Good for business, too.No more of that. It's a real shame.

Rec'd this yesterday, watch was described as having a spotty dial and bracelet in poor condition.All I did was clean off the dirt and polish the crystal.The mvt looks like new, the dial and hands are excellent, bracelet nearly new!

I have seen some great deals on watches that have non-standard straps and passed because I'm not sure what I could do if something went wrong with the strap. Even if it's a stainless bracelet, because I once had to special order a Seiko band that cost $65 for a couple hundred dollar watch, and that was in the '80's when $60 meant much more than it does now!
