Complicated Watches: 7 Standout Tourbillon Watches
Baselworld 2015 is over, and we’ve seen a number of new tourbillon watches among the offerings. Here’s a look back at the most interesting, clever, and daring variations on the now-ubiquitous tourbillon watch presented in this year and last year.. For its Breguet Classique Tourbillon Quanti¨¨me Perpetuel, which combines a tourbillon with a perpetual calendar, Breguet (the modern brand named for the tourbillon’s inventor) strove for an intuitive display of the indications by lifting the hours and minutes chapter to the foreground of the dial, above the one-minute tourbillon at 6 o¡¯clock. A triple hand on the tourbillon cage indicates the seconds, a subdial at 9 o¡¯clock with an engine-turned wave pattern shows the days, and a blued steel hand at 3 o¡¯clock points to the months on another subdial with an engine-turned sunburst finish. Gruen Power Reserve
I promised this one a month or so back to Valtyr - now I am finally in a position to post it.A 1950s Gruen with power reserve. Listed as Strap 966 in Shawkey's guide - Calibre 550RI, sorry no movement shot, the case back has me defeated so far. But its running beautifully, its really fun to watch the power reserve wind up over the course of the morning. Patinated dial is quite OK, and I won't try to interfere with it. It wears large on the wrist, no doubt due to those lugs.It joins my other 'complicated' Gruens - an alarm and a calendar.Anyway, enough talking - now some photos...Movement is a 550RI, derived from a Felsa 1566 - you can see it here on Roland's site.

Seiko Computer Watch Info Wanted
In the late 1990s I saw a Seiko Computer watch in Hamburg - it had a very big & bent casing with metal buttons. the casing was bent due to its width - as the store was closing in a few minutes I was not able to read its manual or specification - I thought if not getting info earlier - I will check & buy the next year.The next year it was gone & no info has been found or watch has been seen.'Anyone knows?

Who collects to collect?
I am sliding down the slippery slope but can't imagine buying a watch and not wearing it, so far so good but at some points some watches will not see any wrist time I'm sure. I'm also massively curious about the hyper expensive (or is it uber expensive for a Glashutte???) watches that trade in the forums as new and unworn but not been made for a few years?

Window Shopping
A Tourneau Store opens a couple miles fron my house tomorrow and they had all the windows dressed up today.I live in close proximity to a number of AD's but I have to say that Tourneau,being dedicated to timepieces only, has the best selection that I have ever seen in one place.Given what I have heard about their lack of discounting I ,very well ,may never buy there but I sure will look.They had a nice selection of U-Boat watches (which I have never seen in person)Those bad boys dwarf the Russian Diver!!!! Way too big for me.The Bell & Ross Instrument watches were nice,but again,way too big!They also had a nice showing of Omega,Oris,Longines,Baume et Mercier,Corum,R.Weil,Tag,Hamilton,Rado,Breitling,M ovado,Cartier and their own branded watches.The certified "pre-owned" window was mostly Rolex (Daytonas,DJ's,Subs,a Yachtmaster and a Cellini)Omegas were also well represented in the pre-owned inventory as was Patek.Looks like it'll be a great place to visit on a regular basis.
