Urgent!!!...opinions needed quickly!!!..taking a short break from expanding my collection of Hamiltons..intending to make an impulse buy shortly of a Speedmaster Pro...question is, which one of 2???....I'm leaning towards the moonphase model with saphire display back and of course the moonphase function...my other choice would be the more traditional hesalite crystal and solid back piece...Leaning towards the moon phase because 1)I enjoy viewing the movements in my other watches, 2)the Lemania movement appears to be visually interesting...What do you guys think??...is it a mistake to pass up the the more traditonal model???

I watched a great program I had recorded from HDNet on Baselworld and independent watchmakers - those few artists who make every component by hand. A fantastic show.Well, I was impressed with the love and care that is put into these watches. And then I thought about the similar sort of care and direction that a family run business would have over a product. Yesterday someone posted something about Bvlgari buying up small companies with rich traditions. It seems sort of gross to me. I know that most companies are 'groups' of several corporations. And I know that most companies use ETA and other shared components and cases and stuff.So, there are two ideas that are becoming more important to me: In-house movements and family ownership or control inside a corporation. To those that followed the old thread:The story came to a happy ending...After effectively being told I couldn't have my long awaited 15202st by my AD,? with? whom I was next on list to be recipient...? (due to AP pulling supply and going boutique only with the model)My heart and hopes both sank.... A few months later however...AP UK called me....
