Panerai Ferrari wrist watches news:
Hello all,This is my first post on these forums. I wish it were to show off a good purchase, but I fear it's for a frankenstein.I've just started building a small collection of Old 60s/70s Omegas, with the idea of having a couple of daily wearers and couple of dress watches. I bought the Cosmic 2000 watch shown in the attached first 2 pictures. I bought it as a daily wearer, thinking it was all up together apart from the condition of the dial, but on look into it with more detail the watch doesn't seem to stack up. I cannot find a standard Cosmic 2000 model with this dial only a Diver version (see the third pic). Anybody able to give me some thoughts on this one? How much of a dud is it?Also how easy/costly would it be to get the dial restored (providing it's worth doing at all). I am also finding that it does not run for a full day.
I am an avid shooter. I have my eyes on a Sea Master Chrono. Will the sudden shock of a rifle or pistols recoil damage the movements of an auto winding watch like the SMP? Also I am an electrician I deal with electric motors, transformers, and some of my tools have earth magnets to let them stick to pipe. Will the magnetism of motors and such also affect these watches? Thanks for your help...
I got the Hamilton Khaki Field Officer Mechanical. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be but I love it. It's such a nice watch and the deal from Aashford was great. They are a sponsor here and I will do business with them again. Ok maybe I need to buy that book on how to take pictures. I posted last week that Aashford had this watch at $295.00 but there was some confusion about sponsors? Anyway the deal is over and it's back up to $367.00 which is still a great deal for this watch.I have a question about it and if anyone can answer it I would be greatful. This is the first mechanical I've owned and I'm worried about overwinding it. Can this watch be overwound? I do feel when it gets tight and the crown will pull back but I can also see how it would be easy to over do it. The one thing Hamilton is lacking is directions concerning things like that in the instruction book. I love the look of this watch, the way it feels on my wrist and how easy it is to tell the time. Yes, I'm get
Well I have these 3 beauties that all arrived yesterday! The Garrard I picked up from the post office and the other 2 were collected from a fellow watch enthusiasts house (with a little chat included)All pics are "borrowed" from previous owners (I hope that's ok?)First up is this Garrard from 1962:Next up is this Damasko DA36:And last, but by no means least is this beauty!Omega Speedmaster Mark II from 1969I am very pleased as you can imagine!Mark
I know it's guessing but based on the past, how fast will Rolex release the updated Datejust in SS and offer new/other dial configurations? Or is this something reserved for Basel 2019? I like the TT but I rather get a SS DJ with a special (blue) dial. And I was wondering if they would change the 36mm Day-Date case as well? Go through the whole DJ and DD line-up (except the DD40).
