I'm polling the group and asking you all to make a decision within a vacuum...meaning not to take into consideration any other potential watches in a collection. Simply, if you had to narrow it down to two, which would be a better and more versatile duo?Option 1: AP 15400 (black dial) and SubC 114060Option 2: AP 15400 (black dial) and AP Diver 15710ST (black dial)Option 3: AP Diver 15710ST (black dial) and SubC 114060
Tell me what you think of this idea. As a generalization, it seems like Rolex produces less SS sport (e.g. daytona, sub, GMT, skydweller, etc.) than are in demand and more PM sport subs and GMTs than are in demand. I'm an engineer and we talk a lot about push vs pull systems. Why doesn't Rolex take specific models and only produce what is ordered and paid for in advance? No more, no less. It seems like this would dry up the gray market because why would I pay Joe Shmoe more than retail for a ceramic daytona when I can just order one from Rolex, even if I still had to wait 6 months? They could still keep boutiques with DJ, DD, and a few others. Rolex's team has to be way smarter than me, doesn't this make sense?
Hi folks,This is the first thread I've ever started, so please be gentle. In reading all the different threads and comments about limited availability for various steel professional models, I became curious about what the total sales figures might be on a model by model basis.I'm not referring to a dollar value amount, but a total number of units per year.I'm sure that this information isn't readily available from Rolex, but maybe some of you know or are affiliated with an AD or a trusted seller here that would have these numbers.Being located in Toronto these days, of particular interest to me would be to know what numbers of each model were sold last year in a typical large city in the US or Canada, or even out of a typically-sized AD...Thanks and I hope this proves to be of interest to folks on here.
