An Orange Monster-related question
I was just at the mall and looked in the Seiko box. There was an orange diver's watch there with an inner 'compass' bezel which had its own crown. And then there was a second crown that did the normal setting of the watch. It was an automatic, and both crowns screwed down. Price was $475 with 25% off. Rubber strap.Now, what I wanted to know is - is this the 'Orange Monster?' And, whatever it is, what is the inner compass thingy? I couldn't understand what purpose it served. There was no arrow that would point to North. Why would you have a directional bezel that you could spin around? I don't get it. Please enlighten me.

Hi all First AP, a 15400 black dial. It will replace my SubC as my ss watch. After my purchase of a gold GMT II last year, I felt I needed more visual variety. I have a somewhat random question though, hopefully you all can provide some insight.... AP haphazardly wraps their new watches in what appears to be cheap clear plastic and blue plastic (same as what is used on electronics). Rolex as most of you know uses precision cut pieces applied at strategic locations. Any idea why the cheap look of the AP wrapping? Considering that AP is considered a more luxurious brand?

I am a new member here. I have been a Tag owner for years and have always wanted a Rolex. After I found this forum and months of reading post at night regarding different watches, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. I was torn between the GMT Master II and Explorer II. After reading and realizing that I couldn¡¯t go wrong with either, I decided to start with the GMT and would buy the Explorer later in the year.
