Hi, Folks: Its been a while since I posted and I apologize in advance if what I am about to ask sounds a little odd. Some years back my son bought me a Vietnam vintage watch owing to my toursw there. I kept it for a while and when it went south on me I took it to a watch repair person who opened it to find the innardswere just some goofy replacement. I don't think my son knew about this but I have always had a soft spot for standard sized mechanical watches with the hack feature, and maybe a moveable bezel. I have been all over trying to find such a watch without settling for some el-Cheapo rip-off. I've tried GOOGLE and E-Bay but all I seem to find are look-a-likes. Having said all of that I settled for a TIMEX Expedition, changed out the band and am pretty happy (the bezel is non-funtional)but wish that I could find the same simple watch with a mechanical work, hack function, moving bezel at a much better level of quality.I'm not looking for a collectors piece just a solid daily-wear
Hey guys,Yes it is this repetitive thread once again, and I apologise for it.I have posted it on the Patek forum, and notice the 5711 outnumbering the AP jumbo, however I would like to see how biased it was, considering it was the PP forum.I currently own a SS Rolex for an everyday use, a speedy that was given to me as a gift, and a Reverso as my dress watch.I find the PP and AP both to be very versatile watches, and would be wearing them dressed up and down.I like the dial of the PP much more, but the bracelet and presence of the AP a little more. The 5711 also is attractive since it is a Patek, if that makes any sense.I really appreciate everyone's opinion.Have a nice day.Edit. Damn, was meant to have a Poll here Any way to add it now?
I once heard that light color dials seem to wear slightly larger than darker ones. Not sure I'm fully convinced by this statement, but I wonder what your views are. I'm particularly interested in the 5205g. Does the light grey model wear any larger than the other 5205g model (black/dark grey)? I never had the chance to handle the two models at the same time. Thanks
