Patek Philippe 5140G wrist watches news:
Watch brands are systematically killing off their network of authorized dealers that historically have helped them so much. One by one, retailers get ominous letters in the mail informing them that a long-term partner will no longer be sending them inventory. Why are the major watch brands doing this? And what does this mean for the future? Read on...After years of struggle, and a complex accumulation of factors, the industry of selling watch is about to rapidly change. It isn't so much a matter of a black and white distinction (in terms of one thing is totally in and another thing is totally out), but the old business model is more or less - dying a slow, painful, and less than quiet death. Here is how it used to be - for well over 100 years. Watch brand sells watch at wholesale rate to watch retailer (known as the authorized dealer). Watch retailer sells the watch for the retail price and keeps the difference as its profit (usually about 50%). In exchange for buying watches from the
A few months ago we sat down with Swatch Creative Director Carlo Giordanetti?to get an inside look at the history of Swatch, its relationship to the art world, and the spring/summer 2014 collections. Today we're focusing on the Big Classic collection, a set of seven new watches that offer a more conservative take on Swatch's directional styles. To celebrate, Swatch has even opened a temporary concept store in London's famous Harrods department store.? 2 OF 4 The Big Classic collection starts with Swatch's 41mm stainless steel "Irony" case, meaning the watches are slightly larger and more robust feeling than the more typically-seen plastic Swatches. From there, there are a few different dial, bezel and bracelet styles. You can go with a simple black dial with the date down at 6 o'clock, a thin bezel, and a black crocodile-embossed leather strap with deployant buckle, or you can select a pilot-inspired variation with broad hands and a wider, graduated bezel. There is also a
Usually every October, I make a special trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan to meet my son's new teachers for the school year and establish relationships with them. This year, the chosen weekend was early enough in October that my son and I planned to make a golf weekend out of it - the weather forecast was quite favorable.Friday morning I made the drive up from Dayton - it was a pleasant drive, but a boring one. The first stop upon arriving in Grand Rapids was to my son's school. He's in 7th grade this year:His teachers really spoke highly of him, and he seems to be doing quite well:After we left his school we headed to our hotel, and spotted this deer in field - I got out and snapped a shot. I think the hunters will be happy this year as we spotted a total of five for the weekend - including three we chased off the tee box on one of the courses we played. We spent Friday evening having dinner with friends, then it was off to get a good night sleep. We had a nice breakfast at the hotel
Just because. Have a happy New Year everyone.
I did a little Googling and found some information about this model, but I have never seen anyone post a photo of one or actually own one.A dealer in NYC offered this to me and I thought it was a 5711. Blue dial, looks exactly like the 5711 but a few mm smaller. Not as small as the 3800 so, its a unique size.I read it was only produced for one year and is the most rare of the Nautilus line but, I cannot find any pricing on them either new or preowned.Any help appreciated. If I don't buy it I have no problem passing it along. THX
