need help with clasp !!
I posted this in the Omega forum, but figured it'd be good to post it here too.I stained the clasp of my speedy reduced with a couple of drops of etchant. This darn thing's job is to actually stain the material, so this little drop marks won't go away unless they are buffed out. I was wondering if you guys had any advice on how to fix this without messing up with the engraving in the clasp. I'll post a picture soon. Also, do you have any watchmaker recommendations in Chicago ?? I'd like a pro to help me out on this,thanks !

Why should you service your watch?
Well, I'm sure most of us know why that is to begin with, but it doesn't hurt to talk it over once in a while. Watches are have very precise movements with tight tolerances, and just like any moving mechanical object, it should have proper lubrication and be free of any debris. Why do you think your car has a few liters of oil and a filter?Ever since I got this watch it had very hard hand winding. Something I thought to be very strange but never got around to get it looked at since I don't wear it TOO often. After the ordeal with the Grand Seiko, I decided to have this one serviced as well, and see if we could figure out what was wrong. I later realized that the watch didn't have the infamous 7750 wobble (well it did have a bit, but not the "normal"), something was definitely up!I took the watch apart (hands, dial, case) and took the movement to Omar (my watchmaker) for service. Which Swatch?
I have always enjoyed watches, but my tastes and my wallet tend to run in the hundreds, not the thousands or tens of thousands (if you hang long enough on timezone, you'll come to think that no one there changes their oil or goes to the gym in a watch with less than 3 zeros attached.)But, one thing I have always enjoyed, from the moment they arrived, were Swatch watches. Affordable, thoughtfully made, whimsical, they put a Swiss watch on everyone's wrist and the Swiss watch industry back in the map, if not back on it's feet.When I discovered, a few years ago, that Swatch had made automatics, I was elated.
