Patek Philippe Patek Philippe 40856 wrist watches news:
I have been trying to sell mine for over 2 weeks with zero inquiries. My Ball Trieste sold in days. I'm surprised.
A friend and I are jonesing and shopping for the Rolex Exp II "M" series w/ black dial and the 3136 movement.I understand that absolute certainty re: the movement may not be made without opening the case, but that the "wiggle" test is pretty good. Here's my question:Would it be true to say that the 3135 might pass the "wiggle" test, but usually wont, whereas the 3136 will always pass the test? If so, that makes the test a bit less reliable than if the 3135 would always fail the test. Also, I gather that the "M" serial number is not definitive either. Worst case scenario...An "M" series specimen that has the odd 3135 in it that passes the test. My head hurts!
Got this at an auction yesterday for cheap. I think it's a neat little watch. It's in fantastic shape. The band has no wear on it, nor does the watch. I don't see any gunk in the band links or on the back of the watch. The face has some minor scratches but overall, it's quiet sharp! I think it's from the 60's-70's?The band is pretty large, it's fit me well (I have large wrists)Not technically American, made in Germany, but I thought that some of the Elgin buffs might know more about it.So if anyone has any info on it, let me know! And of course, a price would be nice. With all of my watches, I'm always looking towards the chance of selling it for profit
Patek March 2012 price listIt's getting insane A friend of mine wanted to buy a 5960 in 2008, the price was more or less 50K. He didn't buy it back then but he never stoped thinking about the watch. Last time he asked for the price (after saving up) they told him it was 72K I don't think he still wants to buy it.How can a watch increase 50% in 5 years ??I don't think I will ever buy a Patek again. I wish I could but when I see their prices I must stop dreaming
My son is a working on a PhD in high-energy particle physics (and has used using high-desnity magnetic fields), and expects to graduate in about a year. This Thanksgiving we visited the Rolex and Omega AD's in his area, to look at watches for myself (I got a nice Omega PO a month ago, another story), and get some feedback on what kind of watch he would like for graduation. The interesting part: He does not wear a watch, owns one but does not wear it, and no interested in a watch! Hay, dad's gonna spring for a Rolex Milgaus or a Omega Aqua Terra Anti-Magnetic, and there's no interest!! Arghhhh!!! Where have I failed?!!Advise requested...
