Hello! ...and a Omega buying question.
Hi everyone! I wanted to first thank all of you for posting a general amount of good advice and sharing all the watch-geek knowledege so freely in these boards. I've browsed through here for a quite a while now, and decided it was time to join and speak up.I'm not a beginner to watch collecting, as my collection is into the double digits, but it's not necessarily anything that impressive at this point. I have a Tissot PRC 200, Victorinox Summit XLT 241340, a Citizen Eco-Drive AT0100-51A, a G Shock G2900, and a handful of Kenneth Cole & Fossil quartz pieces.The only automatics I have are a Stuhrling and a Kenneth Cole, both of which I love the appearance of, but have decided it's time to get something a little higher up the scale. I'm decidedly leaning towards either a Hamilton Khaki or an Omega Speedmaster, but I won't ask you to help me pick between the two. Wittnauer issue resolved!
Well, these arrived today:But the Wittnauer has an issue. When I started winding it, first nothing was happening, and I wasn't hearing that little click, click when I held it to my ear as I wound it. Also, it didn't start. After a few more turns of the crown, the crystal popped off.So, I tried a little experiment, and wound the crown with the movement out of the case and crystal. Worked like a charm, clicking, running, etc.So, I tried to put the crystal back on, lining up the little nubs that go around the stem, and it snapped back on. However, it now won't wind again, and there is a gap on the stem side of the case, and I can easily pop the crystal off with a fingernail.So here are my thoughts:A: This watch does not have the proper stem and/or crown, preventing the crown from being pushed in far enough to wind, and preventing the crystal from popping all the way onB: It either has the wrong crystal, I'm not getting the little spot on the crystal for the stem lined up just perfe

Replacement Fossil Blue crystal
I have a Fossil Blue that I had the crystal changed in and now it doesn' look right, it is a blue faced watch that changed from blue to various shades of blue/green, silver to green. Apparently the crystal was called a degrade that had some color effect ability depending on angle of view and lighting and the one the jeweler put in is clear. I used to get constant comments on this watch and I want it to look like it did,,, Fossil has a watch repair program, anyone familiar with this or any other thoughts on this?
