Richard Mille RM005 wrist watches news:
Peter Speake-Marin is introducing a new member of the J Class collection this year and it’s called the Bi-Tourbillon. The watch is a technical tour de force, featuring a pair of vertically aligned tourbillons linked by a spring clutch system. The Bi-Tourbillon is a nod to the rich history that ties Peter Speake-Marin to the tourbillon, a complication that accompanied the first timepiece to bear his name (a pocket watch in 2000). We got our hands on the watch in Basel last month, and there’s a healthy amount of recognizable Speake-Marin style in the new watch, as well. 1 OF 2 The Bi-Tourbillon is reminiscent of the Vintage Tourbillon we saw from from Speake-Marin back in 2005. The two watches share similarly styled bridges made of German silver, and a baseplate with perlage and ruthenium plating serving as a backdrop on the dial side. The Bi-Tourbillon aligns each tourbillon vertically along the 9 o’clock side of the dial, and links them with a large, han

You guys seem to be the most adamant when it comes to watches so I ask you this.Have you ever, or would you ever pay more for a band than you did for the watch itself?I just bought the Seiko SND219 white/black chrono and I think it would look much better on a black exotic leather band of some sort. Just trying to get some ideas. Am I crazy? or do I really like watches?I got such a good deal on he SND219 that a nice band would almost be twice as much as I paid for the watch. But I think looking at it, a normal person, (other than you guys) couldn't tell.
Remember this poor thing? It was the first project watch I bought, and more "before" pics are in this thread:Project Watch Club: JLC reference 2285Well, I got a phone call today from Laura at the Texas facility that the watch is finished and looks like this:I'd say they did a freakin' awesome job! The only thing I see that doesn't look exactly like the original dial is the "T" on either side of the SWISS MADE. I guess I'll have to check if there is any lume on it, but that doesn't bother me anyhow. If it looks that good in a crappy photo, I can't imagine what it will look like in person! I'm a happy WIS again. Only one thing - it's 2 months early so I had to hold up bidding on a couple vintage watches on eBay to divert the funds. Oh well, there's always more Longines and Omegas around. Rob, Steve, and everyone else who shared there thoughts on the dial work: thanks, and I'm ridiculously tickled that I had them redo the dial as original with the crosshairs intact. As nice as th
