Jaquet Droz unveils 5 new models for 2009 including a simple “less is more” 50mm pocket watch, two complicated pieces with mineral dials, second time zone, and 24 hour displays, and two tourbillons, one of which measures in at a stately 47mm. La Montre de PocheJaquet Droz presents a pocket watch that embodies their ¡°less is more¡± philosophy. La Montre de Poche is housed in a red gold case measuring 50mm in diameter. The dial is hand-crafted enamel while the hands are red gold, as are the accompanying chain and charms. The watch is powered by a Jaquet Droz caliber 2615 30 jewel manual winding movement with an autonomy of 40 hours. My new watch came yesterday: the beautiful Orange Monster...I won't go into technical details because I think most of you already know the specs and movement of this watch. You better take a look at the whole process of unpacking the watch, sizing the bracelet and some other fancy pics as well:The box was sent by the seller from Caracas.Let's begin...This box seems a little old, and it's bigger than the one that came with my Black Monster.Indeed, the box IS old, even the Seiko logo seems out-dated.I don't care about the box anymore once I opened it and saw this beauty... The watch is completely new, by the way.The box has a hidden compartment on the bottom, which serves to keep the manual and certificate in place. ok, I know this has been discussed at length on this forum and the cake is already baked at Rolex, but Rolex designers need to make this watch...44mm submariner with the 3235 movement with a black and dark blue bezel with the wider glidelock bracelet from the SD43. All stainless with a flatter case back so the watch sits low. The watch does not need a helium escape valve nor the thicker crystal, hence making the watch thinner. No one dives in these watches past 100 feet.If they made this watch with 3 different bezel/face color combos it would be a huge hit. All black, dark green bezel with black face, and blue/black bezel with black face. C'mon Rolex...make this watch! ....And the msrp should be under $9k.
