Patek Philippe 4700/053 wrist watches news:
Tutima is a brand we've talked a little about here at worn&wound. We looked at the history of the brand here, and pined over the Grand Classic Chronograph UTC here. We've always liked the tool watch aspect of the line. While the brand is remaking itself and offering some more refined models in conjunction with their move back to their historic home of Glash¨¹tte in 2011, they haven't forgotten their military roots. The venerable German brand can trace those roots to 1927. During World War II, the brand made something of a name for itself when it was one of a handful of companies making flieger watches for the German Luftwaffe. Post-WW II, Tutima was subsumed into the Eastern Bloc's watchmaking industry. However, the founder, Ernst Kurtz, had escaped to the west and started over in Saxony. Dieter Delecate, a former associate of Kurtz's, eventually took over and led Tutima into the modern era, traversing the mine field of the quartz crisis as he did so.Part of the secret to Tutima's su
Does it hurt to the the spring run all the way out? Now that I have two Rolexes, this has become an issue. My Milgauss is dressier and I tend to not wear it often enough to keep it alive. If I have to, I'll get a winder. But it seems that would cause additional wear that is unnecessary if I don't wear it for a few weeks. If I'm winding it from dead, how many winds? Does it hurt to backward wind it? Is it possible to over wind it?I've been told you cannot overwind a Rolex. Just checking to see if that's right. Thanks!
Just had the call off my AD to say my CK2998 was in and ready for collection Odd turn of events with this one, it was never on my radar but after the AD let me down on the Snoppy they mentioned this model and even though I've not seen it live but I liked it in pics and due to the muck up I could have the first they get it.Originally contemplated trading it straight away to a watch dealer as they are fetching a premium on the used market towards a Snoopy but just couldn't get the figures to work, and since then after seeing a few side by side pics of the CK2998 Vs Snoopy I've started to lean towards the CK2998 so maybe these turn of events were meant to be..Should pair up nicely with my 116600Pics to follow tomorrow after collection
Question. I'm looking for a non-oem gator strap(s) in black and brown for my 422. Non-glossy, padded, with sewn in pre-v buckle. I would like to spend no more than 200 per strap. Can you suggest two or three makers with whom you have had good results/experience? Thanks.
I accidentally dropped my datejust on a tile floor and now there is a small dent on the lug. It's devastating to me and luckily the crystal didn't crack and the watch is still working fine. I know there's a watchmaker in melbourne that can laser weld it with good reputation. Would you fix it or just leave it? I can live with scratches but a dent on a 3 months old watch is bothering me a lot. You can see the dent as the part that reflects light on the lug. When you get it laser welded, I suppose you would need to remove the movement from the case in which would void the 5 years warranty?
