ok, so, i figure i would clear up some things and make a reference thread on different Chinese mechanical watch movements . if you don't know anything about Chinese watch movements see here: google/url?sa=t&rct=j...fq0xQw&cad=rjaso we will start from the most well known brand, sea-gull (love the dash in they're name) seagull ( sea-gull) has been around since 1955 and makes mechanical watch movements for there own brand watches as well as outsourcing the "factory seconds" to brands such as fossil, stuhrling, and armitron just to name a few. now just because the ones they outsource aren't the same quality they use as the ones they use in they're watches doesn't mean they are bad. some brands such as stuhrling (and i suspect android) buy those movements in bulk and inspect, regulate, and fix any problems and then use them in those watches. seagull makes automatics, manual winds, and tourbillon's and are very high quality (arguably as good as some Swiss brands. they also outsource

So I finally got on the Seiko bandwagon
It took me a long time to finally commit to getting a Seiko. Earlier on in the year I wanted an SKX007 but ended up with a Mako. But a few days ago I picked up a 7009-8028 which I really love and just happened to have the perfect Hirsch strap sitting unused in a box calling for the perfect watch, I believe they are the perfect dark pair. And this arrived today, I was not sure how I would take to the coloured bezel of the 009 but when I opened the box and had it in my hands it was just pure love . The watch came to me with a mesh bracelet and the standard jubilee, also a Z22 and a nato. So plenty of choices but the mesh just sits so well on it, maybe at a later date I will pick up a president or a super oyster just to add more options.

Pre-owned watch - best/safest way to buy
Like the title of my post says, what's the best and safest way to purchase a pre-owned upscale watch? Say if I'm looking for a slightly used Rolex, Breitling etc how do I make sure that the watch is original? I found online version of upscale watch stores such as Tourneau which offer, supposedly, serviced, certified and warrantied used upscale watches but then the price is also pretty high. For example they're offering used Rolex Explorer II 40mm for about $5,500. How to balance the price and the guarantee that the watch is original? Thanks all..
