Piaget G0A32039 wrist watches news:
I went to a retirement luncheon today at Ukai Tei Yokohama,a very upscale teppanyaki restaurant. A couple of friends and I decided to take a quick wrist shot in the dessert lounge.
I know the sunburst pattern is what you typically find on vintage Omegas, but I have seen some dials with vertical lines instead of the sunburst. When I see these I usually think there's a good chance they are redials, but did Omega ever make dials with vertical lines?
HiI have an old Mido watch which used to belong to my father. It got full of water in the 1970's? the dial was a mess it then sat in a drawer until the mid 90's. When I looked at it I liked the detail on the dial and the luminous numbers, it was a 'military' dial. I got it serviced to make it go again and (some of you may not like this) got the dial refinished, rather naively assuming it would come back as it originally looked. It didn't, see picture 1. I didn't like it, wore it occassionally but otherwise forgot about it. This year I again looked at getting the dial refinished but this time to what I remember it looking like originally, pictures from the internet helped this. After months of searching for someone who could do this i finally sent it to Isreal. I am delighted with the results and now wear it every day, see picture. I've also got a Sackville watch, apparently Helvetia export to America?? Found it in a box with a load of old photos, it's at the watchrepaires at the moment
What are you and your watch doing for the holiday weekend?Let's see some action shots !Me and my 1984 SS/18k Rolex Datejust are about to hit the grill, along with a few Heinekens ! ! !It started to rain (bummer) so I had to make a watch change to something that won't mind getting wet. These are my (locally famous) 11 color Shish-Ka-Bobs, they need about one more hour of a marinade bath then on the grill they go!
I'm seriously considering trading my YG SubC LN and black dial Explorer II plus cash for a 5167 and AP Jumbo. For those with the 5167 on rubber strap, is there ever a need to change straps when it get hotter / colder since there is no micro adjustment?
