Piaget Piaget 40786 wrist watches news:
Just got this yesterday so sorry for the crappy photos!Ordered it new but had the AD swap bracelets (he supplied the Bond in place of the Speedy usually supplied for no extra cost) and fit a new dial (sourced from Ofrei) as part of the deal.
2 pic of vostok with map.jpgVostok with map.jpgI found this Vostok Komandirskie at a large antiques fair last month, but passed it up. This month it was still there so I grabbed it, as it is the "sister" watch (his is chrome, mine is nitride finish) for one I purchased for my son a short while back. Identical dials, case and bezel styles, as well as condition, which is good to excellent. No wear through or corrosion evident on either case, which is nice. Mine came with an inexpensive, but adequate rubber strap, which I just changed out for an interesting 2 pc Zulu strap with several colors I thought might look good on the gold nitride case. I haven't had a chance to measure timekeeping on this watch yet, as my wife's gonna snag it back and put it up as a Christmas gift for me. Seems to be working well with what little time I was able to check. Movement is the 17 jeweled, mechanical 2414. Eric
My DB OPS T100 arrived today. All I can say is WOW! What a great watch! The build quality is first class and the tritium tubes light up like crazy. I know I'm really going to enjoy wearing this watch! Cheers, Bill P.
Hello,I just received an Ernst Benz Chronoscope (47mm) with an ETA 7750 movement. It was purchased used and appears to be in fine cosmetic condition but it does have an issue with the chronograph function. The watch stops running if the flyback hand is not sweeping. If I press the top pusher the flyback hand sweeps, the second push stops the motion and the lower pusher resets to the 12 oclock position. However, the second hand seems to stop as well. If the flyback hand is sweeping, the watch will keep running. In addition, the flyback hand will get hung up every once in a while as it approaches the 12 oclock position. So as long as the chronograph feature is running, the watch runs. Does anyone have an idea as to what this problem could be? Thanks in advance for your help.Mike
...with a "cheapie". Customs taxes here in Russia make it unmanageable to have any watch over $200 shipped here (for something over $200, you're looking at around 70% customs ). So, every time I get back to the States I stock up on the watches I'd been looking at the previous year. It's too long to wait. There are a lot of pretty nice watches out there for under $200, of course, so I'm thinking of ordering one just to scratch that itch.Anyone else out there buy a lower-price watch to feed the addiction while they're waiting to get something more expensive?Or am alone in my "shakes"?
