At SIHH 2015, Cartier’s headliner launch was the Cl¨¦ de Cartier collection, an entirely new family of timepieces whose case design incorporated a key-operated winding crown (Cl¨¦ is French for “key”). Today at SIHH 2016, Cartier unveiled the first skeletonized watch in that collection, which also features Cartier’s first-ever skeletonized automatic movement made in-house.The movement in the Cartier Cl¨¦ de Cartier Automatic Skeleton (price to be revealed at SIHH) is Cartier’s brand-new Caliber 9612 MC, whose openworked architecture showcases bridges in the shape of Roman numerals III, VI, IX, and XII (marking the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock hour positions, respectively) ¡ª a motif that Cartier has used previously in skeletonized versions of its Santos-Dumont, Tank MC, and Astrotourbillon Skeleton watches, the last utilizing only the VI and XII numerals. Wrist watches and Magnetism
I've been wondering what the most important things to avoid are when wearing a mechanical wristwatch to avoid having it become magnetized. I'm sure it shouldn't be close to a running microwave of course but what kinds of problems can be caused by other things like laptop computers and other common appliances? I suppose the newer watches are more resistant but I'm more concerned with the vintage models like the 1948 Hamilton Lester I recently acquired.

What happens when your grail gets no time?
For years, YEARS, I pined for a Rolex Submariner two tone (Bluesy). It was my grail and I did and do love the piece. I saved and final got it about 2 years ago.I also have the 50th anniversary sea dweller, which gets ALL the wrist time, I love it. The size, the proportions, you name it. Even when I try to take it off, I can't!Now my poor Bluesy sits in a safe, getting zero wrist time. I still love it, its a stunning, timeless piece, in my opinion. That being said, I just don't see it fitting me. I have a hard time finding a time to wear it, if that makes sense.So my question is, do I just sell it? That's a bit of cash tied up in something that while I love, never sees the lights of day.Thanks all.Yeti
