Are trends in watches based on marketing and mental conditioning?
There was a time when as far as I recall, most folk bought a plain simple watch with a dial, hands and hour markers. You know, the classical, dress-style watch. Then came the diver and more consumer uptake in chronographs, the wrist computer, all of which I think have taken " market share " as it were from the classical design. What if, instead of the divers' bezel, say the chronograph or GMT become the thing on a watch to have? Based on the belief that more divers' watches are sold than any other, I'm asking if this is a trend created by marketing and thus mental conditioning. I'm not saying we're playing ' follow the leader ' merely asking why it is we seem to like certain styles.What do you think pals? Y'all have a good week ahead nowZIN

Find AP references to be extremely pretty but confusing because of all the different models. I like the RO but am never clear about all the different sizes.Can anyone attempt to explain the lineup to me? For instance, what is the most popular or best selling AP watch? What is the submariner equivalent (in terms of popularity and recognition)?
