Rado R13809702 wrist watches news:
The use of Chinese parts in Hamilton watches caused a bit of controversy in recent weeks. This is not the first time Hamilton looked to the Far East. I found this bit of information on Wikipedia. In 1962, Hamilton entered into a joint venture (60% owned by Hamilton) with the Japanese watchmaking firm Ricoh to produce electric watches meant primarily for the Japanese market. The electronic components were produced at Hamilton's Lancaster factory while production of the mechanical works and final assembly was undertaken in Japan. Although production levels of Hamilton-Ricoh watches was high (over 1000 per month), demand was low and consequently, the Hamilton-Ricoh partnership was unable to compete with the substantial market presence of Seiko. The partnership was dissolved in 1965, with the remaining Hamilton-Ricoh electronic movements (marked "Ricoh 555E") re-cased as "Vantage" and sold in the US.
Just announced! Beautiful! Some specs: steel case, ceramic bezel, realistic moonphase, sunburst blue dial, 44.25mm, 150m wr. Expected msrp of 9400 chf, which is about the same in usd. This complicated speedy, METAS certified, 15.000 gauss anti-magnetic puts omega at a whole new level. Any information forum members have on this Omega stopwatch would be appreciated. I bought this watch sometime in the mid '70s in the Virgin Islands. It's been used primarily to time legs of NRA pistol matches. As you can see from the photos the plastic watch holder has faded from exposure to sunlight. The watch still runs perfectly. Does Omega still make stopwatches, and if not when were they discontinued? Any info would be appreciated.Doug

Does anyone know where I could purchase a PAM386 (brown ceramic)? I take it these are very rare.
