Cacheux Elephant Automatic Watch
This is a watch that I really never thought was going to be made. It started out as a concept watch called the "Galibier" based upon a concept car from Bugatti with the same name. Fabien Cacheux designed it to have a perlage decorated "drum case," Bugatti logo, and an interesting strap system. Less than a year later, a more practical version of the piece is being made - but in very limited quantities and it will be called the "Cacheux Elephant Automatic."Although France based Cacheux tries to explain the "Elephant" name, I still don't quite get it. The Attack of the 42mm Elgin Trench Watch, GIANT SIZE 6s ! ! ! ! !
Hey guys !TRUE size 6s American Trench Watches are among the hardest to find and obviously some of the most sought after models to obtain.This 1917 Elgin Trench Watch did NOT start out as a pocket watch ! ! !The case was made to be a trench watch and is NOT a pocket watch case conversion like others that you will see ! ! !This case is CRAZY big, it measures 46mm lug to lug and 42mm with the crown.Size 3/0s Elgin trench watches are much smaller, around 36mm by 31mm on average.There are a couple versions of Philadelphia "Silverode" size 6s cases but this one is by far the most difficult one to obtain. Starting the year properly
2010 was a good year for me, I cycled through many watches, some lasting weeks, others with permanent places in my collection. Some of my favorite additions include a vintage Stowa Chrono, Lum-Tec's M21, and Seiko's SARB035. While these are all great watches, I found myself wanting to take a step up and focus on higher quality watches in 2011 rather than quantity. To this end, I promptly made 2 acquisitions to open my year. First up, an early 90's serial Rolex Submariner 14060This pick up was totally out of character for me. I have never bought into the Rolex scene and frankly, harbored some less than flattering opinions about their owners (ashamedly). This all started to change with exposure and education, I started to become fascinated by their vintage models. I had to see for myself. I can't describe the feeling I had when first handling this watch, in a moment, it all 'clicked' and I finally got what all the fuss was about. Panerai 505.... man, what a beauty
So I tried out the 505 again, this time when I was at Beverly Hills PAM boutique. Man... still sings to me. I even tried out the 384 and although that's a killer piece, I still found the 505 to be a great watch. Not sure what to do. Just thinking out loud.Although I did get to try out the 335... nice watch too.

Another car analogy
As a car dealer I find myself not liking certain new vehicles as they are redesigned only to have them grow on me. After reading a lot of comments on here I find others as well as myself doing the same with Rolex.
